11th July – UBS Take Two

So now that I’ve emptied the bank account, it’s back to work.  Kind of looking forward to going back to the book store – it was a fun job and it paid the rent.  Also helps that I’m already trained and know everyone.

These 3 weeks however, are nothing like the previous job.  Since it’s the second semester, there’s a lot less panic and savvier students who have figured out the best times to come in.  As it is, instead of two weeks of utter chaos…we get one day, the rest is a tolerable stream.  Results in a lot of people being dropped from the rota a lot sooner than expected.  I even get sent upstairs to cover the shipping room as there’s just not enough work on the floor for everyone.

That said, I do get another week out of UBS when they ask me to stay on.  The boss is going away for a while and they need the extra hands.  I’m happy to oblige – though I have to leave early on Monday due to a prior engagement.  I have an interview with a temp agency – haven’t had much luck with these so far, but I’ now desperate.  I haven’t made anywhere near as much as I hoped in New Zealand thanks to the wasted 4 months in Te Puke.  I really need some better paying jobs and at the moment Auckland seems to have a steady stream of temping.  End up signing with 3 – Quinn, Randstad and Cavanagh.  Time will tell if they can help.

About Batale

I am an aspiring writer - though since I haven't written anything original in about 2 years, so calling me a writer is like calling a man who makes dinner every night a 5 star chef. I started this blog to force me to write. From the 1st January 2013, I intend to update this blog every day. If nothing interesting happens, I'll write about something that does interest me, whether that is a movie, a book, something I've heard about, or even some of my stories growing up.
